Ok, so this weekend I turned 31, not the most glamorous of birthday years, but still, the first entry into my 30's. Last year, was totally awesome- the bro and I went to New York City with our ladies n had just the birthday to end all birhtdays- highly recommend going to nyc for ya 30th birthday- it rawks the house. Well, on March 18th the tallynomad and I went out for sushi, then went to Jakes Ice Cream in Decatur, where we had gone on our first date....and well I gots down on one knee n asked her ta marry me and she said yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and there was much rejoicing n woot all around...I couldnt be happier n it was the best way to start a birthday weekend ever- now we can go to the home depot n register for power tools- woot doh- would help if I linked to the right girl- thats what I get for tryin to be a cleaver n such with this live journal stuff
I cant believe that Hunter S. Thompson is gone. I am really shocked and depressed about this. I loved reading his stuff, even his sports column on espn.com...He just seemed to say it well and I loved and agreed with much of what he said. I loved his piece about Nixon in Rolling Stone after Nixon had died. So many people were writing all these glowing things about Nixon, but Hunter pulled no puches on the crook and the shame that was Nixon. I feel much the same way with Reagan's passing- i dont understand all this outpouring of grief for a shitty presidnet who could have beat aids but instead did nothing and now look where we are...but oh well I am going a bit off topic (somewhat fitting) and will close with my favorite passage of his from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: "We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark -- the place where the wave finally broke and rolled back." Thank You Dr. Gonzo, you will definently be missed ESPN did a good job of a sendoff: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/index
round midnight I got a call from my brother at work- He said there was a chemical leak in near our house and that folk were being evacuated but it didnt appear to be near us...thank goodness. I was checkin the web on the issue ( http://www.11alive.com) and noticed our street was mentioned- I called home in a bit of a panic to make sure beau and the cat were ok- only to wake him- verified all was okay and went back to workin n surfin...now my bro has called and said the cops just drove by broadcasting that our area needed to evacuate- well now im worried- I dont enjoy being stuck at work worried bout him- granted I couldnt do much their either but I could at least do something rather than sitting here and wait for the cell to ring... Update, Bro and the cat are at the girlfriends- very very relieved Now I wonder what kinda chemical they were breathing for the past several hours...hmmmmm

Apparently the rules are: Bold the states you've been to, underline the states you've lived in and italicize the state you're in now, add countries you've been to at the end.
Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas / California / Colorado / Connecticut / Delaware / Florida / Georgia/ Hawaii / Idaho / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kansas / Kentucky / Louisiana / Maine / Maryland / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Mississippi / Missouri/ Montana / Nebraska / Nevada / New Hampshire / New Jersey / New Mexico / New York / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Oregon / Pennsylvania / Rhode Island / South Carolina / South Dakota / Tennessee / Texas / Utah / Vermont / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin / Wyoming / Washington D.C. England / France / Germany / Austria / Italy / Greece / Czech Republic / Holland / Hungary / Switzerland / Vatican City
26 States and 11 countries w00t now if I could only win the lottery so next stop New Zealand, or perhaps Iceland
